Hello my name is Zena S. Turner. I love teaching. The smiles, giggles, hugs, the “I did it!” and the warm
feeling I get knowing and loving a child is why I am an early childhood
teacher. I like to see children grow, develop, achieve, dream, learn, know and understand. I want to be apart of that process. Educating
is my passion. My upbringing and experiences lead me to this rewarding career.
I have worked in child
care for about 12 years. I am a native of Detroit, Michigan but I currently live in North Country New York with y husband and 4 year old son. I earned my BA in Communications from The University of Michigan-Dearborn
and I have a Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Ursuline
College in Cleveland, Oh and another Master’s degree in
Education (Curriculum and Instruction/ Child Development) from Ashford University. I am currently earning a certificate in Early Childhood (management and leadership) at Walden University.
My parents have always encouraged my sister in I to be ourselves and to explore new things
in life with an open mind and heart. I want to encourage others to do the same. I am an artist, mentor, mother, and educator
who love writing, art, music, traveling and science. Please comment on all my post. I look forward to all the discussions about Early Childhood Education.
